Accessibility
This statement describes how accessible this site is, what we did to get there, what we know is still imperfect, and how to buy from us by other means if the site is the obstacle.

Commitment
JD APPAREL LLC is committed to making this site usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, or colour adjustment. We treat accessibility as part of building the site rather than as an audit at the end.
The standard we build to
We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at Level AA, and we intend this site to be usable in a manner consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Where we fall short of that standard we would rather know than assume otherwise.
What we have done
- Contrast. Body text is drawn at roughly 12.9:1 against the background. Every button meets at least 4.5:1, and the primary action exceeds 7:1.
- Keyboard. Every control — including the colour filters, the size selector, the Builder's three questions and every cell swap — is reachable and operable by keyboard, in a logical order, with a visible focus ring that is never suppressed.
- Skip link. The first focusable element on every page skips the header and jumps to the main content.
- Structure. One
h1per page, headings in order, landmark regions for header, navigation, main and footer, and lists marked up as lists. - Tables. Size charts, the pairing matrix and the Builder's week grid are real tables with captions, column headers and row headers. On narrow screens the week grid restacks vertically while keeping those header relationships intact.
- Images. Every photograph that carries information has descriptive alternative text saying what the piece is and what the photograph shows. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Forms. Every field has a visible, permanently associated label. Errors are announced, described in words rather than colour, and tied to the field they belong to.
- Motion. Nothing on this site moves without your action except the fabric film, which is silent and loops. Animation is disabled entirely when your system requests reduced motion.
- Zoom and reflow. The layout reflows to 400% zoom and to a 320 pixel viewport without horizontal scrolling or loss of content.
- Status messages. Adding to your bag announces itself politely without moving focus, and never opens a panel over what you were reading.
Colour is never the only signal
This site is organised around six colour cards, which would be a problem if colour were the only way to tell them apart. It is not:
- Every swatch is shown with its code and its name in text — SL-05 Camel, never a bare square.
- Filters, product cards, the pairing list, the bag and the Builder all repeat the code in text.
- The pairing matrix uses the words “combines”, “same card” and a dash rather than coloured cells, and the full list of combinations is also written out in plain text below it.
- Form errors are stated in words. The colour of the message is additional, never the message itself.
The same principle applies to opacity: the grade is written as a word on the product page, not conveyed only by the backlit photograph.
Known limitations
- The PNG the Five-Day Builder exports is a raster image and cannot be read by a screen reader. The same information is available as a proper table on the page itself, which is the accessible route and is not a downgrade.
- The fabric film has no narration. It carries no information that is not also written in the text beside it.
- Product photographs are described in words, but no written description fully replaces seeing a fabric. If that matters for a purchase, call us and we will describe any piece in as much detail as you want, or send free swatches.
If the site does not work for you
You do not have to use this site to buy from us. Call +1 818 835 3868 during Monday to Friday, 9:00–18:00 US Eastern Time and we will take the whole order over the phone, including reading out measurements, fibre content, care instructions and opacity for any piece, and arranging delivery and returns.
We can also send the size charts, the fabric and care information or an order confirmation as plain text by email on request. Ask at support@jdapdarel.shop.
Feedback
If something on this site does not work with your assistive technology, tell us. Email support@jdapdarel.shop with the subject “Accessibility”, or call the number above. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do and what happened, and which browser and assistive technology you were using if you know it.
We acknowledge every report within two business days and aim to fix confirmed barriers within 30 days. If a fix will take longer, we will tell you why and give you a workaround in the meantime.
